Are you an artist living in Navajo or Apache County? We want to see your work! 91㽶Ƶ (NPC) is accepting entries for the 17th annual Locally Grown juried art exhibit at the college’s Talon Gallery.
Locally Grown is a showcase of the diverse artwork of our region. The exhibit will run from October 30 through December 4 at the Talon Gallery on the NPC Show Low, White Mountain Campus.
Anyone 18 or older may enter art in any medium. You may submit drawings, paintings, photography, pottery, sculptures, quilts, jewelry, or any other original or unique artwork, including functional items. Download the call for entries at www.npc.edu/calls-entry.
Locally Grown is a juried art exhibit. First, second, and third-place selections will be awarded cash prizes. The deadline for entries is Friday, September 25.
Each year, the exhibit is juried by a different professional artist. This year’s juror Don Whitesinger. Don Whitesinger is a Navajo artist who received his Associate of Arts from the Institute of American Indian Arts, a Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Rhode Island School of Design. Don Whitesinger has taught at Holbrook High School and Diné College in Tsaile, Arizona. He currently lives in Canyon De Chelly, Arizona, and creates art inspired by Navajo Culture.
